KINDERGARTEN

Here at MCCA, Kindergarten is an essential building block on the foundation of academics. Your child will grow academically, emotionally, and spiritually as our teachers prepare them for their academic career. We are pleased to provide your child the opportunity to have a quality, godly, and safe environment where they will master reading, writing, and arithmetic. Most importantly, our prayer is that our students will continue to learn about our Mighty God and the importance of following His will in their lives.

Curriculum

Our Kindergarten programs (K4 and K5) use the Abeka Curriculum which is biblically based and academically enriching. Each class has set goals to prepare our students for the upcoming grade in these core subjects: Bible, Phonics, Numbers, Reading, Writing, Community Helpers/Social Studies/Science, and Skills Development.

To be ready for First Grade, the students will have been taught:

  • colors and shapes
  • the five vowels and all consonants
  • consonant/vowel blends
  • short vowel words and long vowel words
  • numbers 1-100
  • counting by 1s, 5s, and 10s
  • adding 1 and 0
  • time to the hour and half hour
  • the value of a penny, nickel, and dime
  • counting groups of coins
  • finding the greatest and least number of three numbers
